Joshua and Ruiz have flown to Saudi Arabia for today press conference ahead of their world title fight in Diriyah on December 7, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
However, Wilder has this week attempted to grab the spotlight in the division, insisting he wants not and the Ruiz Jr-Joshua winner an expected rematch with Tyson Fury, an announcement that’s not being treated badly by the British celebrity’s promoter.
“Let me inform you about Deontay Wilder, and really right now there’s no point us speaking about Deontay Wilder, since the attention is Andy Ruiz,” Hearn told Sky Sports.
“Right now the position we had, was that the place in my view of dominance at the division, no more exists, therefore we can not be calling out Wilder and that or this. The focus is Ruiz but isn’t it interesting when on struggle week Joshua-Ruiz Deontay Wilder announced that he and Luis Ortiz on Joshua struggle week were fighting.
“We’re now in the start of September, there’s no struggle, there’s absolutely no place, there is no date. He has not spoke because that moment likely about Anthony Joshua. ?
“Deontay Wilder pops up and says’Oh, I would like to fight Anthony Joshua and merge rather than Tyson Fury.’ Why didn’t you need to do it when Joshua had the straps?
“For the last almost two decades, every query going into an AJ fight was’when are you going to fight Wilder? Oh Ruiz, do not worry about Ruiz, when’s the Wilder fight?’ He dropped into that snare.
“We’re not going to fall in that snare. Forget Deontay Wilder, let’s go and box Tyson Fury. The greatest battle in the heavyweight division is Joshua-Ruiz, that is the focus.”
Talking on’Untold Truth’, Joshua told about the conversation of an fight demonstrated a distraction ahead of the June defeat to Ruiz Jr in New York Sky Sports.
“It was just like I was coming into the end of the street already, worrying about undisputed,” explained Joshua.
“That undisputed stuff? It was right before me it was one of the greatest curses lingering over my mind when I was champion.”
Hearn shown that the Liam Smith of Britain and Alexander Povetkin could comprise on the undercard.
