After an exciting race in Tennessee, NASCAR heads to Richmond Raceway Saturday night (6 rebounds CT, FOX) to its next short-track race the Cup Series season.

Richmond, the site of the Toyota Owners 400, is 0.25 miles more than Bristol and Martinsville, but NASCAR still categorizes it as a brief track. It is actually most similar to the 1-mile apartment monitor of Phoenix and New Hampshire in banking and it’s no surprise drivers who have had success.

Kyle Busch, who won Sunday’s race at Bristol as the race-favorite, once again has the shortest odds (2/1) on the plank in the Westgate SuperBook because he seeks his seventh win in Richmond. Busch has finished in the top 10 in every race this season and owns a series-best 6.9 average finish in the Richmond. Busch has finished first and second at the two races in New Hampshire and won and led a race-high 177 laps.

Recent results, richmond rules bundle

Teams will utilize the 2019 rules package tailored for short tracks (less than 1.33 miles) and street classes. A 1.17-inch tapered spacer will be utilized as it was earlier this season at Phoenix, Martinsville, and Bristol, with motors expected to create roughly 750 horsepower. When handicapping the 400-lap race of Saturday, results from Phoenix should be bettors’ priority before researching last year’s outcomes from New Hampshire and Richmond, since different packages were utilized.

Pole-sitter Ryan Blaney (94) and Aric Almirola (26) also led laps in Phoenix in March, as did Denny Hamlin (7), Jimmie Johnson (4), and Daniel Hemric (4 ) ). Busch won Stage 1 and Blaney won Phase 2, and the duo was joined by Martin Truex Jr. (second), Almirola (third), and Hamlin (fifth) at the top five at the checkered flag.

Recent consequences: New Hampshire | Richmond | Phoenix

Entering Saturday’s race, Team Penske drivers Blaney, Brad Keselowski, and Joey Logano has dominated short tracks of Bristol and Martinsville. The trio has directed 795 of those laps this season, thanks to the 486 circuits of Keselowski directed.
